Refund and Returns Policy

Overview

Our refund and returns policy lasts 30 days from the date of purchase. If 30 days have passed, we’re unable to offer a full refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it, and in its original packaging.

Non-returnable items:

  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable products

To complete your return: If your item has arrived damaged, faulty, or not as described, please email us at admin@thegiftedbookworm.co.uk with photos and we’ll send you a prepaid returns label to download. For all other returns, you’re welcome to use a postal service of your choice — we just ask that you keep your proof of postage or receipt.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

Partial refunds may be granted in the following situations:

  • Any item that shows obvious signs of use
  • Any item not in its original condition, or that is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
  • Any item returned more than 30 days after delivery

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll drop you an email to let you know we’ve got it and whether your refund has been approved.
If approved, your refund will be processed within 7 days and returned to your original payment method automatically.

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t seen your refund yet, it’s worth checking your bank account first as it can sometimes take a little time to show up. If you’ve checked and it’s still not there, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at admin@thegiftedbookworm.co.uk and we’ll look into it for you.

Sale items

Sale items are refunded in the same way as full-priced items — no need to worry about missing out just because something was on sale!

Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.

Shipping Returns

If your item has arrived faulty, damaged, or broken, please don’t worry — email us at admin@thegiftedbookworm.co.uk before returning anything. Include photos of the issue and we’ll send you a prepaid return shipping label to download and print. In these cases, return shipping is on us.

For all other returns, you will be responsible for paying your own return shipping costs. Please note that shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund amount.

Depending on where you live, the time it takes for an exchanged product to reach you may vary. For higher-value items, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee receipt of your returned item.
